The Department of Sociology in Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Adarsh Mahavidyalaya, Tulungia, Bongaigaon was established in 2023 with Four Year Undergraduate Program as per National Education Policy 2020. The Department currently has three regular faculty members. Their areas of interest includes Religion & Gender, Social Movements, Political Sociology, Society and Culture in North East India, Sociology of Law, Sociology of Development, Sociology of Health and Medicine as well as Symbolism.


Vision of the Department :

The Department of Sociology, PDUAM Tulungia, Bongaigaon is one of the first Sociology Department established under Gauhati University for Undergraduate Program. Keeping in line with the ethos of the college the department aims to impart quality education in a holistic, inclusive and sensitized manner.
